Details:
This is a Downloadable Gift Certificate, redeemable for an In-Person Beginner Weaving Workshop in the Studio, 3 hour session Afternoon of Hand Loom Weaving.
Come to the Studio and weave on a pre-set loom. No experience necessary. This is teen, young adult or adult workshop.
Studio Floor and Table Looms are pre-threaded for weaving, additional materials are provided. Under Studio guidance, you can experiment with different textures, colors and patterns in a woven sampler. The size and length of each student piece may vary depending on the yarns they choose to work with and individual skills. Work is finished to take home at the end of the session. Your finished piece might be a Table Mat, Small Coin Purse, Wall Hanging, or whatever you desire.
Spaces and equipment are reserved and prepped ahead of time. Costs cover materials, equipment maintenance, and instruction.
Students should arrive on time and be prepared for controlled physical activity, to sit for periods of time and move arms and legs to operate the looms, with breaks, as needed.
Wear comfortable clothes. The studio is in an old mill, which can be warm in summer, drafty in winter. Jewelry and loose clothing, such as draped sleeves, are not recommended and will catch on threads and in equipment. Shoes are often removed for operating loom pedals, so bring socks.
